Ministries

Brotherhood Ministry

The Brotherhood Ministry directs men (young and old) through Christian-based principles to exhibit Godly characteristics while perfecting their gifts. It is a leadership ministry because no matter what age or station in life a man finds himself, he is called to lead. Men learn to get into the zone of God’s anointing on their lives in order to advance beyond acknowledging they were created for a purpose to executing actions that will enable them to fulfill their life’s purpose.

As the ministry continues to grow, much attention and focus will be given to:

  • Planning and coordinating men’s conferences, luncheons, service projects, and trips
  • Participating in and overseeing special events and activities for men
  • Planning and coordinating (with other ministries) special interest classes, workshops for men
  • Working with appropriate church committees, officers, and leaders to carry out the overall ministry of Ebenezer Community Church
  • Providing quarterly and annual reports to the Pastor and Ministry Leaders on progress made against goals and objectives

Note: The above list is not exhaustive by any means. It is our goal and desire to see it expand as additional resources and participants become available.

The ministry meets the 3rd Saturday at 10am of each month at the following time and location: TBA

Sisterhood Ministry

Women are an influential force in the church. They cradle the future and shape the present with their attitudes and actions toward themselves, family, friends, fellow church members and neighbors. When women are ministered to, the church, their family, and the community are ministered to as well.

The Sisterhood Ministry strives to advance all women (young and old) towards the Kingdom of God, while addressing real and felt needs and concerns women often have; displaying at all times the image and model of Christ Jesus.

As the ministry continues to grow, much attention and focus will be given to:

  • Planning and coordinating women’s conferences, luncheons, service projects, and trips
  • Participating in and overseeing special events and activities for women
  • Planning and coordinating (with other ministries) special interest classes, workshops for women
  • Working with appropriate church committees, officers, and leaders to carry out the overall ministry of Ebenezer Community Church
  • Providing quarterly and annual reports to the Pastor and Ministry Leaders on progress made against goals and objectives.

Note: The above list is not exhaustive by any means. It is our goal and desire to see it expand as additional resources and participants become available.

The ministry meets the 3rd Saturday at 10am of each month, at the following location: TBA

Christian Education

The Christian Education ministry exists to facilitate and sustain an organized, interactive platform of learning throughout the general church and within various ministries, with a deliberate intent to continuously make and grow disciples of Jesus Christ. All teaching, materials, resources, and volunteer staff are structured around the model of growing disciples in their heart, soul, mind, and strength. Training will be provided on a regular basis to teachers and facilitators to ensure they are certified and equipped to lead and teach students on the wondrous powers of God.

At present time, there are 3 church-wide learning platforms that exist to equip members and friends of Ebenezer:

Sunday School
Sunday School offers a small group learning environment based on age groups with the intent of presenting scriptures via theme-based and chronological events that occurred throughout the bible. Sunday School occurs 9am-10:15am each Sunday.

New Members Assimilation
All individuals that formally express an interest in becoming members of Ebenezer must complete the New Members Assimilation, a 6-week course that orients individuals to our beliefs (Statement of Faith), basic tenets and principles of discipleship, sanctification, and stewardship. It is the first step to preparing individuals to work within the local and universal body of Christ.

New classes are formed throughout the year. Check back for details on upcoming classes.

Corporate Bible Study
Our bible study intensive is just that…an opportunity for Pastor Onadele or an appointee to lead discussions that delve deeper into scriptures, providing time for members (and guests) to raise questions, debate issues, and clarify individual and/or group interpretations based on interpersonal feelings and/or situational circumstances. We meet Tuesdays, 7pm at Church location: Delta Fair Conference Center, 3700 Delta Fair Blvd, Antioch, CA. 94509

Music and Arts Ministry

Our dynamic Music and Arts Ministry facilitates an atmosphere of worship during Sunday services, weekly fellowships, and other events in an effort to encourage those attending to discover and worship God themselves. It seeks to provide a structure that addresses the various levels of spirituality and musical interests present within the congregation.

Every creation of God is a worshipper. All material presented, albeit song or dance, enhances and improves the spiritual level, biblical knowledge and understanding, worship experience, talents, gifts and skills of ministry participants thus improving the total ministry and its effectiveness in ministering to the congregation.

Currently, there are two components that make up the ministry:

Mass Choir
The Choir meets every Friday, 7pm. New members are always encouraged and welcomed to join.

Praise (Liturgical) Dance
A newly formed component, the dance team meets at designated times during the year. Updates will be provided in the future of meeting times and special engagements.

Children’s, Youth and Young Adults Ministry

The aim of the Children’s, Youth, and Young Adult Ministry is to provide a safe, secure, nurturing, clean and relevant “fun and faith” learning environment to all between the ages of 2-29. Leaders work hard to not only teach but exemplify Christ-like patience and love, relating to participants based on real and felt needs experienced within each age group. Ministry participants grow to be Christ-like followers, community ambassadors, and ministers of reconciliation in their own unique way.

In addition to loving participants, the ministry provides encouragement and assistance to parents, families, church and community volunteers by having face-to-face meetings, workshops, conferences, and special service projects on topics of interest to them based on their role/relationship to young people.

Currently, the ministry hosts a weekly combined Children and Youth Sunday School class and Youth Bible Study that occurs in tandem with the Corporate Bible Study and Sunday School fellowships held for adults. Continue to check back for regular updates and listings of upcoming events targeting young people.

Ushers Ministry

The Ushers/Greeters Ministry is unique because it is often depicted as the area of “first impressions.” Members and visitors are greeted at the door of the church with a friendly and pleasant attitude. Our Ushers serve as abiding servants who adopt Psalm 84:10: “I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.” An atmosphere of reverence and order before, during and following Church services are maintained so that attendees are able to concentrate on worshipping God. As within any ministry, it is of absolute importance that Ushers maintain a personal relationship with the Lord through obeying His Word, prayer, supplication, study, and service to win souls to Christ.

At present time, we have a mixture of Junior and Senior Ushers serving the church and are always soliciting new members to become a part of the ministry. The ministry team meets 2nd Saturdays’ at the following location.  TBA

Health Ministry

God’s will for our lives is that we would prosper and be in good health (3 John 1:2). It is essential that believers in the body of Christ take steps to become better stewards of their physical temple.

The mission of the Health Ministry is to foster health within the congregation of ECC by supporting, comforting and providing guidance to individuals and families that promote maintaining a healthy lifestyle, physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially.

Throughout the year, the Health Ministry will utilize a variety of communication methods (e.g. printed materials, classes, workshops, small group studies and health screenings) to educate members and the community-at-large. Leaders may from time to time support community-based organizations as a liaison or advocate in obtaining just-in-time services certain populations within the community are in need of securing.

Check back for more updates in the future to include a calendar of when regular scheduled ministry meetings will occur.

Mission and Outreach Ministry

One primary purpose all men and women of God are called to is to love our neighbors as ourselves. Our outreach ministry efforts enable us to do just that within the community. It is our desire to exemplify Christ’s love in as many ways possible to others that may not know Him in the pardon of their sins The Missions and Outreach ministry assists the members of Ebenezer Community Church in fulfilling their Biblical mandate to preach the Gospel and help those that cannot help themselves. We join the financial and personal involvement of our congregation with the needs of people in our community, nationally and across the world.

Evangelism is not an option but a command from the Lord Jesus. All believers have the responsibility to be a witness for Christ. Matt. 28:19-20, Acts 1:8, Luke 24, Mark 16

Everyone does not have the gift of evangelism but everyone can do something that helps non-believers accept Jesus Christ as their Savior.
Without evangelism, there is no need for the Christian Church.

Aims:

Confront the World with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Matt 28: 19-20

To secure clear and definite decisions to accept Christ as Savior

To enlist all converts as effective followers of Christ

There are nine (9) ministries in our Evangelism Program and these ministries require minimal effort but have great impact to the community around us.

These ministries are designed with you in mind. It only takes two hours a month and don’t require a lot of intense training.

The ministries are:

  1. Questionnaire Evangelism Here’s a ministry for those members of the church who enjoy talking to people and starting a meaningful, intellectual conversation regarding salvation. Just by using a simple questionnaire of five questions can really get people in the community talking about faith.
  2. Door-to-Door Witnessing Using a proven witnessing approach called the “7 Steps to the Kingdom “; this team goes door to door in the community leading people to Jesus Christ. If you enjoy meeting new people and sharing your faith, this is the ministry for you.
  3. Neighborhood Outreach (Water Give-a-Way) “Servant Evangelism” is the key to neighborhood outreach projects. Because it is based less on speaking and more on serving, more church members are able to participate. This level of outreach usually involves some products (water, soda, donuts, newspaper, etc).
  4. Tract Distribution Come and join us in touching the City of Oakley, Brentwood, Antioch and surrounding cities with the love of Christ. We will take the Lord with us as we go to various destinations and hand out tracts pertaining to salvation along with a word of encouragement. This is a great ministry to meet new people and share your faith.
  5. Neighborhood Outreach (Homeless Care Package)The homeless are people that God loves and care about. If you have a passion for helping the homeless in our community, then this ministry is for you
  6. Visitation The goal of this ministry is to bring a message of hope, love, and salvation through prayer and the giving of gifts and tracts at local hospitals and convalescent homes. This is a great ministry for members who want to focus on people and their needs.
  7. Prison Outreach The goal of this ministry is to bring a message of hope, love, and salvation through music, prayer and witnessing at local prisons and Juvenile Detention Centers. This is a great ministry for members who want to focus on those that are locked up or trouble young people and their needs.
  8. Follow-up The work of evangelism will suffer greatly if no one ever followed-up on the people we have made contact with through our outreach ministry. Members who just want to serve can take part in this ministry.
  9. Prayer Warriors Prayer is a very important part of evangelism. We know that prayer changes things! We need members who are passionate about prayer to pray and intercede while the various teams are going out into the community to minister
